Where we're at!!!

So, I am editing Breaking Blackheart and should have a final version in January. The intention was to submit it to festivals but I'm not sure if it is where it needs to be in terms of being a proper representation of my abilities as an actor or as a director. We shall see where the editing takes it.

I have taken a step back and took a month or two to contemplate my personal and professional life and admit the past several months have proven to be transformative and life-changing.

As a storyteller, both as a photographer and a movie maker, I am much clearer on my artistic vision and in my personal life I have decided that some things are worth working through and fighting for.

I know if I am not making the kinds of stories I want to, I cannot invest my time, energy, money and resources and have to stay focused on creating art that satisfies me.

If it isn't compelling, engaging, dramatic, shocking and sexy, it isn't for me.

So, I am editing Breaking Blackheart and preparing to shoot some new material with my friend Krystal and trying to get comfortable with the idea that I just might settle down in California.

I miss NYC, but I miss it for the chaos and fun that I don't really partake in any more. There are cool people in California but one just needs to find them.

It looks like I am visiting Austin again soon but moving there looks questionable since things are happening here and it is only two hours away.

I don't want to be tethered to anything right now but art.

Well, we finished filming Breaking Blackheart last week and I am proud of our hard work and happy to see the character of Lee Blackheart come to life.

Now it is time for editing and readying the film for the festivals and getting the three feature films made.

So, we begin to bring Lee Blackheart to life next with an amazing cast and crew and a lot of enthusiasm. 

Filming Breaking Blackheart in less than a month...

Wow!

We are so close to actually launching this thing and there is still so much to do but everything is right on target.

We're securing our locations and cast and are almost set with the props and costumes.

Now, if I could just learn these lines...

Final Draft Indeed!

I’ve finished the screenplay and I can safely say it is the movie I want to make. I can now focus on the other aspects of production and preparing to play the role.

 

The writer’s job is finished.

 

Now I only have three jobs left, actor, director and producer.

I'm on the fifth draft of this script and I am scrutinizing the content and story quality like never before and though it is a lot of work, I feel great about it.

The prop guns arrived, (3 fake handguns and a fake shotgun) and they are fantastic with moving parts and the works.

The one thing I know is that there is no turning back and if I have to do every job on set, I will. This movie will be finished by this time next year and it will be everything I have ever wanted to see in a movie.
